Wellknown fim maker Mani Ratnam is planning to do a multi starrer film with Vikram, Suriya and Telugu Star Mahesh Babu.Vikram and Suriya have earlier worked with Mani Ratnam individually.Vikram and Suriya combo they earlier worked together in the film ‘Pithamagan’ directed by Bala and it was one of the hit of Vikarm.
The story is based on the famous Tamil historical novel “Ponnian Selvam”. Ponnian Selvam”is widely known as the greatest novel ever written in Tamil. It deals with the fortunes of the Chola empire during the 10th century. The novel comprises of five parts in which Mani Ratnam picked eighty scenes to weave into an entertainer.
According to the reports from kollywood Vikram will be doing the role of Raja Raja Chola, while Suriya will be acting in the role of the Pallava king.Jayamohan The dialogue writer of this film is Jayamohan.
